La vérité biologique que Wells nous a donnée ralentirait une rencontre avec des extraterrestres dans Star Trek ou Farscape, où les intrépides aventuriers se préoccupent rarement des langues locales, et encore moins de respirer l'air local.
Les extraterrestres nous ont envahis parce qu'ils ont un penchant pour le sang humain, sucé sur des êtres vivants (on ne sait pas très bien comment ils ont découvert qu'ils avaient un penchant pour nous, mais c'est du théâtre dramatique, de toute façon). Si vous n'avez pas lu Wells, vous devez le faire.
Wells a créé une référence - c'est un commentateur social réfléchi, un pionnier de ce qui rend la SF intellectuellement attrayante, et un sacrément bon conteur, aussi.
